With the fear of sea snakes and rays in the water, armed guards and good fencing at other hotels and not ours, we decided to stay close to the staff at night. Scrabble was perfect entertainment for everyone.

This is the stunning lookout at the top of the town of Catarina, overlooking Laguna de Apoyo, Granada and Lake Nicaragua/Colcibolca. We stopped with only a half hour to get the rental car back to Granada on our way back from the beach on Nov 26th. We spent a day swimming in the Laguna de Apoyo the weekend before.  Its a collapsed crater, water is 80+ and you float easily with all the minerals.  A handful of resorts and hostals dot one side of the shore.
